10 Things You Should Know About West Edmonton Mall (Parents Edition) #yeg

Our Favorite Quiet Place to Nurse? Anthropologie
As far as stores go, anthropologie is one of my favorites to nurse in. Comfortable chairs, it’s quiet and you can find something new and pretty for yourself while you browse (OHMYGOD LOOK at the sale room). I’ve nursed plenty a time changing in the comfortable changing area, or browsing with a friend while I ‘yay or nay’ clothing choices, browsing through the store.

Kids 2 and Under Get Free Rides
Kids 2 and under get free rides at Galaxyland (and you can even go on some of them with them). Those little dates to the mall just got a little bit more fun, no?

Drop Kids 4+ Off and Have Dinner
Need to get some shopping done and don’t have a babysitter? You can drop kids off at Color Me Mine for Kids Night Out on Friday Nights. It’s $35 and you’ve got from 4 to 8:30 to have dinner or shop. Kids 4+ can hang out, have pizza, paint a piece of pottery and watch a movie. It’s more fun with a friend (check out our review, here) but a great option for the upcoming holidays when you just want to get some shopping done.

Toddler Time at the Waterpark
When school is in session, both the Waterpark and Galaxyland have toddler time. That means you can stop by between 11-3 for a fun day out (you don’t have to leave at a specific time once you’re in the waterpark) and it’s only $20 for a parent + child five and under.

See a Movie with Your Baby
Stars and Strollers at Cineplex offers the latest movies out in theater, in a kid-friendly environment. You’ll find a quieter movie, change table in the theater and toddlers playing or walking up and down the stairs while Moms hold babies, or they sleep in carriers and strollers. There are usually discounted prices, and followed by some mall walking, it’s an easy Moms day out.

Entertain Toddlers on a Pirate Ship
Yes, you can go on that pirate ship in the middle of the mall. It’s $2, but it’s well worth it as the kids can run around and pretend on a real pirate ship – making you the mom of the year until it’s time to leave.

Need to Rent a Stroller?
Do you have shopping to do and forgot the stroller at home? Maybe your with a kid who is done with walking? Single strollers are available for rent at Entrances 2, 8, 32, 44 and 50 for $6. Double strollers are available for rent at Entrance 8 for $8.

Get Cheap Tickets through Fundrasiers
If you’ve got older children, you can still save. Look for tickets for fundraising nights where you can get access to the waterpark with $5 or $10 tickets, or save 10% when you book online at West Edmonton Mall.

Stay up to Date with Events
Staying up to date with events is simple. The events and performances page of the West Edmonton Mall website is where you can find events for the kids, events for families and even specials and promotions.

Find the Best Treats
The best treats for the kids (and for you) at West Edmonton Mall are Popbar, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and B Sweet.
