19 Delicious, Kid-Friendly Restaurants in Edmonton to Try This Summer

I don’t know about you – but it seems like our family gets stuck in these ruts of places to go with the kids, for dinner. We want something fast, but delicious – and usually stick to the same two or three places if we’re not diligent about stepping outside of our comfort zone and trying new things.

For parents that want to try somewhere new, with delicious food, but also a kid-friendly restaurant in Edmonton, we’re sharing some of our favourites.

De Dutch | Grab your kids and introduce them to a new style of pancakes, a style of pancakes that are going to hold your entire breakfast. You can try something new every time you come to De Dutch and the big portions and kid-friendly space means you’re not going to have to worry about bringing the kids along with you.

Blaze Pizza | As many toppings as you would like, for just over ten bucks. Blaze Pizza – Fast Fire’d is one of those new places you’re going to have to try. They’ve got delicious blood orange lemonade and the pizzas are delicious, thin crust, and perfect-sized for a couple of children to share.

Spinelli’s Italian Bar | Grabbing pizza and gelato with the kids, and either eating inside of the busy cafe or heading to Giovanni Caboto Park, across the street. Try the delicious, authentic pizza or soup,

Freshii | For a healthier choice, the Kung-Fu bowl provides a healthful alternative to the burgers, pancakes, pizza and other kid-friendly options that are on our list.

The Burger’s Priest | Delicious burgers, without the option of an actual kids menu, but we grab the kids a burger meal to share, with an extra burger. You’re going to want to try the Peter’s Denial, the chicken burger tastes like thanksgiving, in your mouth. It’s fast, there are delicious cookies – and it’s a great option to go if you’re heading downtown to play in the fountains.

Jack’s Burger Shack | Our favourite place to grab a kids meal and milkshake, it’s one of those places that has a line-up shortly after opening, and you’ll see why. This year, there’s a delicious food truck

Nando’s | Head out to Nando’s and try the chicken that you hear everyone raving about. The Family Share platter is a delicious, delicious option that’s going to cover all of your bases, and the kids are going to enjoy the magical coke machine that can craft them any drink they can imagine.

LOVEPizza| Kids meals that come with Pizzelle cookies and a fun crafty-sticks to build everything from a person to eyeglasses, and the fact that kids eat free on Sundays are a few of the reasons that we love LOVEPizza. The meat pizza is delicious, and you can’t go without trying the dessert option.

The Melting Pot | Once a month, there’s a kids event at the Melting Pot where there’s not only a one-price three course meal for parents and kids, but you’ve got the option to add on an extra kid on the cheap. In addition to the fondue day out, there’s a fun selection of themed kids activities, every month.

Local | What’s better than banana pancakes and shuffleboard? The kids love the fact that the breakfast meals come with a smoothie shot, and they can play shuffleboard (or old school board games) while we wait for the food to arrive. The banana pancakes are delicious, and the fried egg sandwich was also a hit for the kids (with the removal of a few of the extras from it).

Meat | Fantastic service when you’re with the kids, with lots of options on the menu that they’re going to want to eat, Meat pleases parents too – with the delicious comfort food. It’s casual, and the daily specials are going to keep you coming back.

Nomiya | With the newly introduced kids menu and the delicious food for parents, you can get your ramen and sushi fix, at Nomiya. The quaint little shop is casual, kid-friendly and has the usual sushi menu you would expect, and it’s great for a Saturday afternoon lunch.

CulinaFun for brunch with delicious food, you’ll find a kid-friendly atmosphere with high chairs and welcoming servers.

Scoop n Roll | This one’s an after-dinner treat, or mid afternoon piece of delicious, but the ice cream that is prepared in front of you and rolled up to serve is one of the most exciting things to watch, as the anticipation grows before it’s served. Come early, it’s a popular hangout during the summer months (and after you taste it, you’ll see why).

Cafe Bicyclette | Delicious pastries, grilled cheese and classic poutine mean the kids are going to clean their plates at Cafe Bicyclette. Traditional food meets kid-friendly, meets delicious – means you’re going to want to hang out here for lunch more than once.

Pasta Pantry | Hearty pasta, delicious meatballs and a casual, laid back environment where you can grab a table, even on those bad days with the kids, the pasta is equally as delicious in take-out form. Our kids favourite is the Alfredo sauce, with a side of meatball – they split it, and always have leftovers for the next day (which are even better).

Delux Burger Bar | Kids eat free on Mondays, the delicious slider deals on Wednesdays and the Mojitos that are on point are a few of the reasons that Delux Burger Bar tops our list. It’s casual, easy and fast – and there are multiple locations in the city (with great patios) that can make dinner easy this summer. It’s worth going back every month to try the new creation of the ‘Celebrity Chef’.

Hotel Macdonald | You might question why this one’s on the menu, but everyone needs a fancy brunch once in a while and for older children, it’s the experience to dine like a prince or princess, so it’s worth the splurge, once in a while.
