5 Parent Hacks to Save You Money on A Trip to Disneyland

It’s the season when many local families are taking off for winter vacations, and one of the most popular trips for families is Disneyland. A quick flight from Edmonton and lots of options for hotels close to Disneyland, here are some of the ways that you can save money on a Disneyland vacation with the kids.

Get Trading Pins before You Go | You can buy trading pins ahead of time at the Disney store or Disney store online and have them ready when you check into your hotel. Getting these before you go will save you a bit of cash when you get to the park, and give the kids the option to trade the pins with cast members, while you’re there. Remember, the pins to trade must be authentic – in order for the kids to trade them.

Stay Close to the Park | There’s a brand new hotel, perfect for families, just in time for your next trip to Disneyland. Check out the new Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Anaheim, CA. It’s walking distance to Disneyland and offers a great, modern rooms with a fantastic view of the fireworks. This way, you can get the magic of the evening fireworks, without having to be at the park. (See a tour of the hotel, here)

Skip Paying for Breakfast | Staying at a hotel like Country Inn & Suites helps to reduce the cost of food while you’re exploring Disneyland. Fill up with the included continental breakfast. Want a sneak peek of what’s included in the breakfast? Check it out here.

Buy Costumes Before you Go | Buy costumes before you leave (order them online or buy during friends and family weekends, to save a bundle). This way, instead of arriving to the park and buying costumes in the gift shop, you’re able to bring them with you! Hit up the local swap site, or Moms group, to find gently-used costumes, to get multiple choices, for the regular price of one dress or costume.

Get Drinks to Go | Refill your drink before leaving the restaurants: Plaza Inn, Rancho del Zocalo, and Pizza Port and take it with you. Those are three of the restaurants that will allow you to refill and leave, saving a bit of money inside the park. You can find filtered water inside the baby care centre, french market, tomorrowland terrace restaurants.

Know Before you Go | Getting the height restrictions for the rides that you’re interested in going on, to make sure that the kids riding are going to be allowed on, can help to avoid disappointment. Get all of the height requirements for the rides at Disneyland, here.
