Ice Castles Edmonton

What to do in Edmonton This Weekend (With Kids) | 1/5 – 1/7

Ice Castles Edmonton

We’ve done more exploring during winter break than we’ve done all year since the colder weather has hit. Even with the temperatures climbing down to minus thirty, it gave us a chance to find those ‘indoor spaces’ we’ve forgotten about. You don’t have to worry about that this weekend though, the weather is going to be fantastic – and it’s the perfect chance to get outside!

Here’s what to do in Edmonton this weekend, with kids:

Build a Block Calendar at Home Depot | Saturday morning
Once a month on Saturday mornings you can head over to the local Home Depot store to build a fun activity with the kids. Pre-register for the sessions online to claim your spot, and build a new project, every month. This month, it’s a block calendar. Designed for children between the ages of 5-12.

Explore Ice Castles | all weekend
Ice Castles opens this weekend! Admission is $16 for adults, $11 for kids and the castle is back and even bigger this year. It’s a chance to explore a bit of magic in our own backyard. There’s a slide, and even a fountain this year!

Drop in Winter Greenshack | Saturday
Join in games, sports, crafts, music, drama and special events. You’ll find a list of upcoming activities and special events posted on the side of the Green Shack each week. If there’s a game or activity that you’d like to play, just ask the Program Leader.

Drop in Orbisports | Saturday
Explore laser tag, bubble sports and more during drop in Saturdays between December and March. A monthly drop in membership is $25/child and $35/adult, or one time $15 drop in fee.

Explore New Trails | All weekend
This week, we explored the trails at Whitemud Ravine. Easy parking close to the trail start (look for the bridge) at Alfred H. Savage Centre, the trail was easy enough for a toddler to come along, and was also easily manageable for pulling an infant in a sled.
