Chinese New Year at the Conservatory | Saturday, 4-8
What better way to celebrate the year of the Dog than a visit to the Muttart! Take in the sights of our new Feature Pyramid ‘From Asia with Love’ while enjoying our warm hospitality. Try your hand at planting and taking part in some amazing cultural activities. This year we’ve again partnered with the Edmonton Chinese Bilingual Education Association! Dancing will take place in Center Court (times will be updated soon!), so don’t miss out on this amazing experience!

STEM Saturdays at Microsoft | Saturday, 11 am 
In this free coding activity, students ages 8–12 will play in Minecraft while they learn how to code with Microsoft’s MakeCode platform. By the end of this Workshop, participants will have: Increased confidence in their technical and coding skills, Improved their computational and creative thinking, Read and understood code in the MakeCode environment. Participants who love the activity can return for our extended 2hr Play and MakeCode with Minecraft workshop, which brings coding in Minecraft to the next level.

Take a Kids Pasta Making Class | Sunday, 10:30 – 1 
Send us your kids (ages 9-13) and we’ll teach them to cook pasta, perfectly. We’ll take your kids through the ins and outs of cooking dried pasta, how to serve it, and what to serve it with. And we’ll teach them three sauces that they can easily make at home for you! We’ll start the class with a delicious slow cooked Italian Sausage Sauce, perfect served with Penne. Then while the sausage sauce simmers we’ll be working on two quicker dishes: Spaghetti with Melted Cherry Tomatoes; and Orechiette with a Tomato, Ricotta & Arugula Sauce. And throughout the class we’ll be looking at knife skills as well as discussing hygiene and safety in the kitchen, and even sitting down for a bowl or two of the pasta that we cook.

WMCL Snow Party | Sunday, 1-3 
There’s plenty to do to celebrate winter! Curling on the social skating rink Broomball at 1:30 p.m. Skating – bring your helmets and skates! (no hockey sticks please) Hot Chocolate S’mores over an open fire Horse Drawn Wagon rides throughout the neighbourhood. Free for community league members, $3 for non-community league members.

Winter Family Fun Day | Saturday, 2:30 – 5
Fulton Meadows and The Meadows Community Leagues are joining forces for the 2nd Annual Winter Family Fun Day on Saturday, January 27 from 2:30 to 5 pm at Meadows Rec Centre. Join us for wagon rides, snowshoeing, hot chocolate, skating, s’mores and bannock making (tentatively), outdoor activities and family reading and board games inside Meadows Library.
