The Haunted Pumpkin Festival at Prairie Gardens Adventure Farm, attracts families from across the nation to Edmonton’s countryside every fall! An autumn outing to the pumpkin patch and this charming month-long Halloween festival is an annual tradition. There’s been over 1 million guests to the farm have enjoyed the farm since 1956!

For parents searching for Halloween activities that aren’t too scary for young children, the Spooktacular Acreage is opening this week. For the fourth year running, the Realty Executives event will host over 90 animatronics, inflatables, and even a spooky cemetery.
Night of Fear Festival
When: October 19-20
Our festival boasts some great activities – such as our EPIC & renown haunted house, a surprise new haunt (we don’t want to give away too much), and don’t forget the puzzling, yet creepy escape room – brought to us by our friends at Can Scare. Sit down and enjoy a film (or 8) at the Friday Night horror film showcase. We have live and roving entertainment all weekend long. Get yourself a realistic wound – in support of the little warriors, and pop on over to get a photo at the photo booth. You might find a must have Halloween item – amongst our product vendors and we end it all with Edmonton’s first Vampire Ball. Friday night ADULT costume contest, Saturday kids costume contest. Don’t forget, our bigger scares are always on Freaky Friday. Full family day brings family activities, and full family fun on Saturday.
Spider and Web Craft at Michaels Craft Time
When: October 20, 10-12
They craft, you shop! Kids 6 and up can enjoy making a craftstick and yarn spiderweb with a pom-pom spider. Sign up in store or online, or just drop in. Parent or guardian must remain on premises during the event.
Monster Making Madness Workshop
When: October 20
Join us for a ghoulishly good time at the Reuse Centre as we create simple, fun Halloween decorations! We’ll go on a spooky trick-or-treat scavenger hunt for reuse supplies to make petrifying pill-bottle monsters, a Frankenstein candy collector and scary spiderwebs.
Make a Halloween T-Shirt
When: Oct 20, 1:00pm – 3:00pm
Bring the family to make Halloween t-shirts that everyone will enjoy! Buy the t- shirt and the supplies to decorate it will be provided.
TWoS Make and Take Spider Lamp
When: Oct 22
During this workshop you will learn how a laser cutter works, try your hand at laser engraving, and assemble your own spider lamp to take home!
Halloween Ultimate Slime Party

Bring the family to customize slime. Choose from a variety of premade slime, and then customize with your choice of mix-ins. We’ll provide the supplies, including the premade slime.
Carnage Caverns Haunted Maze
When: Oct 26-27
Enter if you dare! The creepiest Halloween haunted walk is back. We are really messing with your mind this year. Come support a couple of great charities while getting a good scare at the same time.
Bring your little one’s for some fun and games next door while you disappear in the maze.
School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

Let’s Talk Science is proud to announce our 7th annual School of Witchcraft and Wizardry: Science is Magic at the University of Alberta! Come join us on October 27th, 2018 from 10AM to 4PM to witness magic unfold in the form of science for free! From magical plants to explosive demonstrations, see how magic can be achieved with a little help from science. The day will host a series of magic-themed hands-on science activities for children ages 7 – 12 and their families. Look out for new attractions this year and special raffle!

Halloween Slimetacular at Chapters Indigo

Come dressed up on Saturday, October 27 at 11am and join our Halloween parade! Enjoy our colour changing slime station and enter for your chance to win a Goosebumps giveaway.
Fright Night at Galaxyland

Kick off your Halloween weekend at Galaxyland with the return of Fright Night! The music will be loud, the lights dimmed and the rides unlimited! There will be a Live DJ on site from HOT 107 Edmonton, Costume Contest, Haunted House and On-site special effects
MAKE BREAK Monster Slime

Have a monsterous good time customizing slime. Pre-made slime and mix-ins will be provided. As a bonus project, buy a jar and turn into a silly or spooky monster to store it in.
Spooky Saturday at the Strathcona Museum

Bring your family to our 6th annual Halloween event. Saturday, October 27, 2018, 6-9 pm. Costumes encouraged, flashlights recommended. Enjoy family-friendly games and activities. $5/person, 2 and under free. Cash Only.
Boo at the Zoo

Get Closer… Be not afraid this Halloween! Wear your coolest costume, bring your reusable trick-or-treat bags, and “get closer” to the spooky wonders of the animal kingdom. Hands-on science experiments, crafts, an extinct animal graveyard, and a witch’s den are just some of the fun activities that will make this Halloween one to remember!
Ghoulish Garden Party

Get your capes, dresses, cowls or masks ready for our Halloween event. You’ll have a ‘ghoulishly’ good time and make a Halloween craft, get some treats and play some games! It’s family fun for everyone. And don’t forget to take in our Feature Pyramid ‘Day of the Dead’.
The Great Pumpkin Event

Visit Parkdale school grounds for hay rides, cotton candy, family fun, hot dogs, costume contest, craft tables and a surprise finish to the end of the night! Plus, there’s popcorn! Bring your costume!
Edmonton’s First Ever Haunted Showhome
When: October 31, 3-10 pm
From 3pm – 5pm there will be no actors in the haunted house so if you want to come for the kid – friendly portion this would be the best time to come.
From 5pm to 10pm there will be actors inside to add that extra depth or horror.
