Jurassic Forest Opens for the Season on May 1, 2019

One of our favourite half-day trips for younger children is opening soon, and we’re sharing what you need to know before you plan that visit to Jurassic Park. The Forest is located just forty-five minutes outside of the city, and is one of those places that you’ve got to explore at least once during the summer season.

How much does it cost to visit Jurassic Forest?

  • $42.85 for a family of four (two adults, two children)
  • $9.52 for a single admission child (3-12)
  • Children two and under, free
  • $85.71 for a family of five of general admission and mini golf

What should you know before you go?

  • We reccomend visiting early in the season. Not only are the crowds thinner, so are the mosquitos! It can get quite buggy out there in the forest, so when we’re bringing along very young children who we don’t want to coat in repellent, we make sure to visit early in the season before the mosquitos are thick.
  • Should you get the seasonal pass? For younger children, the seasonal pass pays for itself on your third visit – so if you’ve got kids that love to dig for sandy dinosaurs, or have a picnic among the Dinos – you might want to consider springing for the seasonal pass. Seasonal memberships also come with membership perks, that can be viewed, here.
  • Activities include the two dinosaur path board walks (stroller friendly), mini golf, a sand digging pit and playground where kids can play after you’ve spent time walking the dinosaur paths, interactive displays and scavenger hunts.
  • Print a scavenger hunt before you go, if you’re searching for a way to entertain older kids a little longer. This gives them something to search for as you walk through the paths and can help to create a new experience if you’ve travelled the paths many times before. There are two options to choose from, and they can be downloaded and printed via the Jurassic Forest website.
  • Plan to stay for lunch! You’ve got the option to bring in your own picnic – helping to make it a more affordable family day out with the kids, or purchase something to eat from the cafe on site.
  • The boardwalk trails are stroller, and wheelchair friendly. We’ve brought along our very city stroller, and it was totally fine along the paths – but we would recommend a smaller stroller through the summer as the walks can get pretty crowded!
