What to do in Edmonton This Weekend (With Kids) April 8-10

Have you played bubble sports? Kids get in a bubble and play sports, running around with each other taking part in the game. How about a fire station tour? There’s lots going on this weekend in Edmonton with the kids – here are a few ways that you can occupy the kids this weekend:

Fire Station Tour | What kid wouldn’t like a tour of the fire station? Meet your local community Firefighters and Fire Prevention Officers along with staff from Office of Emergency Management for a FREE Fire Station Open House. Check out the fire trucks and equipment, learn how to be fire safe, and know how to prepare your family in case of an emergency.
Where: Station 9020-111 Avenue
When: Saturday, noon to four

Saturday Open Studio | Paint, sculpt, draw and design at Art Gallery of Alberta! Each Saturday, get inspired and make some art in these fun drop-in sessions. Through play and creative experiments, Saturday Open Studio offers opportunities to get your hands messy in a relaxed, informal environment. It’s $15, and kids get to bring home an artful project.

Try Bubble Sports | This is a public event taking place indoors aimed at family and friends who would like a fun day out and play in some bubbles. The cost per person is $10.00 or $5.00 a person for families of 3 or more. Come on out to this fun playful event.

Drop in at John Janzen | Nature Nook, Animal Encounter and feeding and Wildlife encounter are three drop-in programs available at John Janzen on Saturday and Sundays. Come and play in the Tegler Discovery Zone, take part in the drop in program and learn something new while you get outside on a nature walk.

Home Depot Kids Workshop | Build a butterfly house and make sure to bring along your apron, so you can add another pin to the mix. This free activity is sign up ahead of time, and designed for kids between 5-12.
