What to do in Edmonton this Weekend with Kids | February 3-5

What are you doing this weekend with the kids? With plenty to take part in around the city, we’re sharing some of our favourite ideas. Here’s what to do with the kids this weekend, in Edmonton:

Servus Free Ski Fridays | Edmonton Ski Club
Did you know that there is free skiing and snowboarding first Friday of every month during the winter in Edmonton? In addition to free skiing, you can take advantage of $10 lessons and group rentals, making it a very affordable night out for the family that wants an introduction to skiing and an easy way to get outside during the winter months.

Hometown Hockey Tour | The Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour is the ultimate hockey fan experience, making stops in communities across Canada. Our FREE festival kicks off in Edmonton starting at 12pm on Saturday February 4th and will feature family-friendly programming and activities all weekend long. Help us celebrate Canada’s game by picking up a virtual autograph inside the Rogers Tent, meet your favourite NHL Alumni in the Scotiabank Community Locker Room, test your skills in the Chrysler Pacifica Stow N Go Competition, and cheer for your local minor hockey teams in the Cheer Like Never Before contest.

Canoe Flying Volant | On February 4, the Conservatory celebrates the Chinese New Year. Enjoy fun family-friendly cultural activities, watch some traditional dancing, and see the sights of the annual feature Zodiac display. A fireworks show will begin outdoors at 6 p.m

Arctic Snow Day | Telus World of Science
Engineer a mini-toboggan for our snow slide, build a collaborative ice sculpture, feed our yeti, watch special demos on our science stage, stop in at the many activates facilitated by our invited guests, play Arctic Skill Games with the Inuit Edmontonmuit and much more.

Share Snickerdoodle Waffles | the kids love the vibe at Craft Beer Market, and we love the kids meals (and the adult meals). We share the Snickerdoodle waffles with them, and they usually order a breakfast and a charcuterie board, to split between themselves. Extra big booths, kid-friendly and great food, it’s our go-to brunch lately.

Celebrate Lunar New Year | Londonderry Mall
Welcome the year of the Rooster with exciting cultural performances and neat vendors at Londonderry Mall. Join the North Edmonton Business Association for a day full of music, dancing, crafts and games. The opening ceremonies are going to be fantastic – get all of the details for the event at www.neba.ca
