The goal is to get at least 100 small urban intervention projects created around the city in the one day, in order to spark positive change – the idea is for individuals and groups to take an underused or neglected space in the city like a vacant lot or alleyway and turn it into somewhere vibrant that people would like to be. Previous projects have included street murals, pop-up parks, art installations, impromptu performances, flash mobs, tree plantings – basically anything people can think up.
