What to do in Edmonton this Weekend (With Kids) | March 24-26

We’re kicking off March break this weekend, and our event calendar reflects that, with so many things to do in the city with kids. Whether you’re searching for a way to kick off March break or you want a few ways to entertain the kids before you’re heading back to work and camps for the week, you don’t have to worry – we’ve got you covered.

Here’s what to do this weekend, in Edmonton with the kids:

Dino Dig | Mill Woods Town Centre
Experience a world of dinosaur discoveries, learn fun facts about dinosaurs as you complete the Dino Passport. Come to Mill Woods Town Centre on March 25, 2017 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm to get some hands-on experience in being a paleontologist.

Get Henna | Ivivva Southgate
On March 25th, between 12-3, there is complimentary henna in-store for girls, with an upcoming hair braiding session. Don’t forget to stop by for the schedule of fun bracelet making sessions coming up through March break, too.

See Live Owls | Wild Birds
Gord Court of Alberta Environment will introduce you to a Barred Owl & Northern Saw-whet Owl, a relatively common owl of the river valley and the occasional back yard tree in Edmonton. The Saw-whet is also found in pure and mixed coniferous and deciduous forests in central and northern Alberta. Standing only about 18 – 23 cm (7 – 9 inches) tall these are not only cute but have interesting feeding habits. Come on in with friends and family to enjoy seeing these two owls together. Get a free owl poster while you’re at it.

Take a Wacky Printmaking Class | Art Gallery of St. Albert
Turn your creative ideas into hand-printed images to hang on the wall, frame or turn into a card. Experiment with various techniques including block printing, roller printing, stamping and textures galore!

Michaels Kids Club | Michaels Stores
Stop by your local Michaels store on Saturday morning between ten and noon to take part in a fun craft. Each craft take about a half hour, and parents can browse the store while the kids work on it. It’s $2, and this week, kids will participate in making a watercolor frame.

Beauty and the Beast Make and Take | Toys R US
Visit your local Toys R Us store on Saturday morning for a make and take Lego activity that the kids can bring home with them when they have finished it. Get there early, to make sure you get your set. What a great way to add a small piece to your LEGO collection at home, on the cheap.

See a $2.99 Movie | Cineplex
Check out the Cineplex family favourites and spend Saturday morning watching a $2.99 movie. This weekend, it’s Space Jam. Spend the morning out with the family, on a family date for under twenty bucks when you have breakfast at home and skip the movie theatre treats.

How are you spending the weekend with the kids in Edmonton? As always, you can find these events and more listed on our events calendar at www.raisingedmonton.com.
