What to do in Edmonton This Weekend (With Kids) October 7-9

This is the perfect weekend to explore a local fire station, with the three open houses where kids can learn about fire prevention, climb in a fire truck, see the tools used to fight fires and meet a local Firefighter. Take a Family Yoga Class | Prana Yoga Studio
Spend time together as a family to cherish and nurture your body, mind and spirit while practicing yoga together! Yoga relieves tension, creates stability, increases balance, increases body awareness, and garners self-acceptance. This class will explore sun salutations, breathing techniques, standing postures, balances and partner poses the whole family can enjoy. No previous yoga experience necessary! kids, teens, parents, grandparents and caregivers are all welcome, ages 3 & up.

Family Centrpiece Workshop | Greenland Garden Centre
Spend time together creating a beautiful living centerpiece for your family’s Thanksgiving table.
One adult and one child (5yrs +) will work together to plant a combination of indoor tropicals with whimsical autumn accents. After planting, we’ll gather outside for a fun hayride around Greenland!

Make a Clothespin Bat | Michaels Stores
Stop by the Michaels store on Saturday morning for a fun kids craft. Materials Included They craft; you shop! Kids 3 and up can enjoy a clothespin bat project. Sign up in-store or just drop in. $2 per project, supplies included. Parent or guardian must remain on premises during the event.
When: Saturday, 10 am

Go to a Fire Station Open House | Three Edmonton Locations
There are three fire station open house events in Edmonton this weekend, you can stop by the Fire Station and climb on a fire truck, explore and learn something new from one of the events. These are a free way to entertain the kids.
When: Saturday afternoon

McKay Days | Millennium Place
From an inflatable obstacle course race to a rubber duck race, there are events going on all weekend long at Millennium Place. You can take advantage of the fun activities at the pool with regular admission.
When: Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Make a Pumpkin T-Shirt | Michaels Stores
Bring the family in to create three different pumpkin t-shirts. Buy the t-shirt and the others supplies are free – don’t forget to use a coupon in-store to make this a very, low-cost activity for the entire family.
