What to do this Weekend in Edmonton (With Kids) April 22-24

With the weekend almost here – it’s time to think how you are going to spend it. What are you going to do with the kids this weekend in Edmonton? Are you going to visit a local greenhouse and start thinking about the garden? Head out to one of your favourite trails or explore somewhere new? Whatever you’re searching for – we’ve got a few ideas to get you started on your Edmonton weekend events for kids:

Carnival in Beaumont 
Get in the car and head to Beaumont for a Carnival. There are going to be bounce castles, carnival games and food.

Earth Day at Bosom Babies 
Plant flowers, get a glitter tattoo and take part in some kid-friendly earth day crafts, while getting the opportunity to recycle old carseats ($10 fee) at Bosom Babies.

Snow Goose Chase 
Organized bus trips led by experience guides to view geese, swans, and other birds in various locations. Bird guide books, checklists, binoculars and scopes will be provided.

Get Outside and Explore 
Take a walk through one of our new favourite trails, Sherwood Park Natural Area. It’s flat (read: easy enough for little kids) but the trail isn’t stroller friendly. Depending on the path that you take, you can be finished in about thirty minutes, or just over an hour – there’s a short cut halfway through the path.

See a $2.99 Movie
See a movie on the cheap at Cineplex. Saturday morning is the time to enjoy $2.99 movies with the family, and this week, it’s The Croods.

Drop in Free Yoga Class
On Sunday mornings, you can stop by your local Ivivva store and take part in a free dance, yoga or movement class for kids, before the store opens.

Get outside in the park and celebrate Earth Day in Edmonton, on Sunday afternoon.
