Some of our favourite River Valley day camps are organized by the city of Edmonton. Kids can take part in day camps like: Pirates of the North Saskatchewan, where kids can test of their swashbuckling skills and learn the ropes on a voyageur canoe at Hermitage Park. Next up? Junior Rangers, where kids will develop camping and wilderness survival skills such as outdoor cooking, fire making, and shelter building, along with a wide array of games, crafts, and songs. How cool are these options for summer camps in the River Valley? Half day vs. full Day | There are generally two options available for summer camp; half day and full day. Going for the full day depends on the age of the child, and whether you think they’re ready to tackle more than the half-day camp.

Location | Using the tools through the City of Edmonton camps website, you can target the camps available to locations that are close to home or work, making it easier to arrange those day camp drop off and pick-ups at the end of the day. For working parents, this is one of those options you’re going to wish that you discovered sooner.
