Epcor Riverfest | Friday, Saturday, Sunday
The River Valley Alliance and EPCOR are excited to launch the inaugural EPCOR RiverFest this September! The three-day event, running Sept. 15-17, celebrates the North Saskatchwan River and the seven capital region communities it embraces. Each day will feature unique activitiessuch as paddling on the river, live music, food concessions and demonstrations from a range of outdoor operators and agencies – all geared toward supporting outdoor activities in our river valley and on the North Saskatchewan River.

Summer is almost over, but there’s still time for fun and adventure! Join us as we prepare for the change of seasons, just as our forebears have done for decades. It’s a time for celebrating the fruits of our labour and kicking up our heels before the leaves fall. Unplug, get your hands dirty, eat some pie, and spend time with friends and family.

Kalaido Family Arts Festival |
Kaleido Family Arts Festival is held on historic Alberta Avenue (118 Ave between 90-94 Street). For two and a half days every September, Alberta Avenue comes alive as an environment of creative exploration and performances on rooftops, sides of buildings, back alleys, parks, old spaces and new spaces. Not only is it a wonder to behold, it is FREE!

Bison Eye View Celebration |
Bison’s Eye View: Discover the legacy of bison conservation at Elk Island National Park. Embrace your inner bison and follow in the hoofprints of this great animal through the passages and gates of the handling facility. Campfire and light refreshments provided. Register in advance and meet at the Elk Island National Park Visitor Centre Parking Lot, just off of Highway 16. Cost per person: $20. Contact 780-922-5790 to book.

Harvest Festival at Greenland Garden Centre | Sunday, 1-4
Celebrate autumn with this fun family event! Includes free marshmallow roast, face painting and beverages. Hayrides, pumpkin painting and corn on the cob can be enjoyed with toonie donations; proceeds support Safe Place Women’s Shelter.

Ellerslie Movie Under the Stars | Friday Night
Bundle up! Ellerslie Road Baptist Church is hosting their annual Movie Under the Stars, on Friday September 15, 2017.  Activities start at 6pm, movie starts at sundown.  Tons of activities for the whole family.  Food Trucks will be onsite.  Bring your own lawn chairs and blankets
