What to do in Edmonton This Weekend (With Kids) | September 8-10

Callingwood Cornfest | Saturday, 12-4
Each year, the Firefighters’ Burn Unit treats approximately 200 burn survivors in the Edmonton area. The majority are young children who have been scalded or firefighters who are injured on the job. Fortunately, the Firefighters Burn Treatment Society exists to help local burn survivors through research and development, special equipment and training, and the Alberta Children Burn camp.  This exciting community event takes place at the Marketplace at Callingwood shopping centre in the covered courtyard area and parking lot near Safeway. Attractions include: fire truck tours, hot buttered taber corn, pony rides, petting zoo, bouncey castles, and much more.

Play in the Sand | All weekend Long
We’ve still got the accidental beach on repeat. What can you do when the fantastic stretch of sand appears just fifteen minutes from your house? Bring the sand toys, play in the sand and check the water quality before you go if the kids are really going to swim in it. Just wading? We were fine just showering them down when we got home.
