Allstars Playland

First Look at Edmonton’s Largest Indoor Playground – Allstars Playland

There are a ton of indoor playgrounds in Edmonton, and a couple that we tend to favour over the others. The ones that the kids request to go back to again and again are large, with lots to explore. Allstars Playland is the newest contender in Edmonton, an incredible 28,000 square feet for kids to run and explore.

_DSC0102 Allstars Playland in Edmonton Walking into the play space for the first time, we immediately noticed just how large the space actually is. There are some big indoor playgrounds in the city, but this one is huge. Even though it was packed full of children a couple of hours into the preview, there was still a lot of space for the kids to play on, in and around the gigantic structure.

It’s nice for kids that are starting to get a bit old for smaller indoor playgrounds, to kind of revitalize their indoor play, without hearing that they’re bored twenty minutes into the experience.

One thing we also appreciated, was the clear mesh throughout the structure, making it simple to see your children, even in the back of the play structure – through it. You can sit down, without having to chase after them or find them every thirty seconds. Plus, there’s the easy to see, smaller toddler section. There’s still plenty of space up inside the structure, if you want to follow smaller children up inside of it.

What we loved about Allstars Playland:

– central tables to easily view your kids
– huge climbing structure
– electronic cards for the games instead of tokens
– delicious food you want to eat
– a large play structure to bring along kids that are getting ‘too old’ for other playgrounds
– extras like ipads, coloring stations and plasma cars
– bright colored, sectioned off toddler area

There’s a 115 foot zipline that goes from one side of the facility to the other, we didn’t get a chance to try this with the kids – but we’ve got two excited kiddos that want to give this a try the next time around. ($5 add-on to try the Zipline).

The kids sampled a lot of what was on the menu, the pizza, burgers and hot dogs were unlike other food we’ve had at indoor playgrounds, clear winners for the kids. I enjoyed the fresh, crusty bread on the sandwiches, and am thankful to have another indoor playground with wifi access to work from home on those days when the kids need to get out of the house.

Allstars Playland opens next Saturday, March 26, 2016. It’s located in Edmonton, at 9510 12 Avenue. Admission for children under a year is free, 1-3 is $10 and 3-10 is $14.95. Planning on playing a lot? Membership options are available to give you the best bang for your buck.
