FREE Drop in Learn to Skate Program Returns for 2019

For parents with even one child in extracirricular activities, the costs can add up quickly. Add in a handful of kids in multiple activities and you’re looking at thousands of dollars, every single year, spent on extracirricular clubs for kids.

The free learn to skate programs offered by the City of Edmonton are back for 2019, with programs for children in multiple areas of the city, at various outdoor rinks, are back and staffed to teach children the basics of being on the ice.

What will kids learn during the programming:

Learn the skills to become active on the ice. Our program is designed around basic skills, movement, participation and fun! You can expect skills for speed, agility, and control. All of which will give you the skills for other types of skating.

Locations include: Willowby, Cumberland, West Jasper, Lorelei, Athelone, Parkview, Rio Terrace, Potter Greens and McQueen.

Drop in learn to skate programs are available throughout the city between January 7 and February 17, 2019. There is no cost associated with the drop in lessons, but children must have CSA approved ice skates and helmet to participate in the program.
