Free Things to do with the Kids This Week During Winter Break in Edmonton

I don’t know about you – but coming in 2018 means that we’re tightening up the budget to make more room for adventure and exploring. With the kids home from school for the week, it can be tricky to stay on track, so we got together and created a list of the free things to do with the kids during this week off of school.

Free Winter Fun Day | Tuesday Night 
The weather is warming up and it’s the perfect chance to get outside! Head out to Festival Place for a light show, fun, entertainment for the family and the chance to experience the ice slide – plus free skating and swimming admission!

Check out the Microsoft Kids Camps | All week Long
Stop by the local Microsoft store for fun activities in coding, designed for kids between the ages of 8 and 12. Youthspark and Minecraft camps and sessions are being offered for free, in-store. Find the schedule, below.

Family Films at the Library | Daily 
Movie screenings every afternoon, at different library locations around Edmonton. Check out the first screening of Captain Underpants, on Tuesday.

Skate the Iceway Skating Trails
Lace up the skates and head out to one of the two places to skate the Freeway this year. The weather is warming up and it’s the perfect time to get outside.

Free Hot Chocolate between 1-6 at the Emerald Hills Skating pathway. Bring your skates and enjoy the weather that’s warmed up enough to enjoy it outdoors – Daily until January 7th, 2018.
