Guide to Bringing Your Baby (or Toddler) to Stars and Strollers Movies

Stars and Strollers EdmontonStars and Strollers were one of my favorite things about having a young infant and days to myself. It was an easy way to get out of the house and see one of those movies that you wouldn’t ever get to choose on date night, like Black Swan – and with lights that were dimmed instead of off, an easy to access changing station inside of the theater and lowered audio, it was perfect for a young child.

For infants: we brought the stroller along and left it inside of the theater, right beside us. Most of the time, young infants will sleep the way through the entire movie, only waking to eat.

For older infants: we brought along some toys and set up a blanket on the floor where they could play, maybe a snack or two if they were at the stage of eating something like baby Mum Mums. Sitting near the front, letting the older infants play together while they were still constricted to one place let us watch the movie, stopping to feed anyone who got fussy.

For toddlers: it was just as simple. The lights were still on, and the other Moms have no qualms with the kid climbing up the sets of stairs, it’s an easy way to make sure that bedtime is simple. Grab a kids meal and make it a picnic on the floor while you’re there at the movies, and they can snack on popcorn.

For little kids: we stopped going. I wanted to see adult movies, and we didn’t want those little eyes to see something like Black Swan and tell all of his preschool friends about it.

Stars and Strollers takes place at the local theaters, during the afternoon. You can get $2 off of regular admission if you choose to take in the show and we’ve never paid for the infants or toddlers that we’ve brought along.
