How to Have Better Stats While Playing Counter-Strike

Since the 2012 release of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, it has become one of the world’s most successful esports, let alone one of the most played FPS games that is constantly attracting millions of people. On top of that, it has grown with a battle royale mode of its own and with lots of additional maps. As a plus, it is even gone free for players to play. Counter-Strike has always had a reputation for being tough to play ever since its release in 1999.

Anyone playing it would have a story for you about how poorly they played when they first started out, and over the last decade and a half, countless inexperienced players have been terrified by the steep learning curve of CS. While its core mechanics are pretty simple, aiming the gun at your enemies and fire, Counter-Strike easily proves to be a much deeper game than first looks show.

You just need to until you dig a bit below the surface. That being said, the aim of every player is to have better stats while playing. Here are some tips on how to achieve that.

Learn How to Shoot Properly

Learning how to shoot is one of the greatest challenges that even veteran FPS gamers encounter while approaching CS: GO. In CS: GO, targeting down sights is not the norm, unlike in other mainstream FPS titles such as Call of Duty, Apex Legends, or Rainbow Six Siege. If you are using a sniper rifle like the AWP for instance, hip-fire is practically the only way.

This, of course, would mean that hip-fire will act differently. The first shot you shoot would hit right where your crosshair is located while you are standing still. So, in case you are struggling to land your shots, note that in Counter-Strike,  you can always stand still and tap once to get a 100 percent clean shot. Using auto shooting will radically alter it. Reason being that even though the crosshair stays in the same position, the bullets will travel away from that dot, which will produce what is known as a pattern of “recoil or fire”.

By aiming at a wall and not having to compensate for the recoil you could test this out. The majority of standing recoil patterns will vertically rise and then go side by side the longer you fire. One of the greatest assets in the game is learning these and how to counteract them with the mouse movement which will as a consequence make your score go up.

Use Cheats

In order to make the game simpler, hacking in computer games requires a video game player to use several strategies to build an edge over standard gaming. Even if not a preferred option by your competitors, it is still a valid one. Especially if you use a form of CS GO Cheats that are not so easy to be noticed. Typically cheats in games can be triggered or generated by third-party apps or, from inside the game itself. By manipulating program vulnerabilities, cheats can also be recognized. This may or may not be called “cheating”. Depending on whether the error is considered common knowledge. Nonetheless, a higher score is guaranteed.

Learn From Professional Players

There are some CS: GO professional players who broadcast their practice matches on Twitch on a daily basis. From just seeing how they work with their team, how they play, and so on, you can learn a lot. Not everybody does this, and some people would argue that only playing the game more will be a better investment of your time, although,  if you want to elevate your game and scores, these are the individuals who will teach you how.

There are big CS: GO tournaments a few times a year, which are additionally useful to see as a new player, since the players who are very familiar with the finer points of CS strategy usually comment on the matches.

Is There Anything Else You Could Do?

Impatient counter-terrorists are one thing you will see time and time again in low-rank matches. Your task is to keep down the bomb sites while playing as the CT side. This is only if you play the defusal map, of course, which is the prevailing competitive game mode. Your job is not to let the terrorists plant the bomb.  If you are pushing through the bomb sites and hunting around for terrorists, a clever terrorist squad will only be waiting and eventually murder you. It would be wise not to do that stuff but learn instead how to prosecute enemies while you are on the terrorist side.

At this point, you should be well on your way to becoming a good CS player only by reading the advice above. So, all that is left is for you to get in the game. With a little bit of persistence and just a little bit of practice and your scores will go up before you know it.
