Kid Friendly Eats: Build Your Own $10 Pizzas at Blaze Pizza – Fast Fire’d

Fast food usually doesn’t give you very many options when you want to try something with the kids. This weekend, in the mood to try something new, without the wait, we tried Blaze Fast Fire’d Pizza – and weren’t disappointed.

Starting with the pressing of the dough, the kids were pretty enthralled with the process, despite the fact they chose to go with a simple one-topping pie. Us parents, on the other hand, were excited about the fact that there were so many toppings to choose from, and the prospect of creating our own pizza, for only $10.45 for build your own pizza, with all the toppings you want, included in the price.

Starting with sauce, you’ve got the option of a couple different kinds of tomato sauce, pesto, or white sauce.

Next up, with the cheese, you’ve got just as many options. Starting off with traditional mozzarella, I finished up with mozzarella balls, and some goat cheese.

Onwards to the meat, I picked meatballs, italian sausage and threw on some bacon and chicken for good measure – an odd sounding combination, it was actually really great with the pesto. With the selection of veggies, I was excited about the fresh basil and spinach, and especially excited about the roasted garlic.

My favourite part about the toppings bar is the fact that you can go back so many times, and fill so many different cravings. Also, it was great to have a visual with the kids, encouraging them to step out of their comfort zone (next time) and choose at least one new ingredient for the pizza each time you come to Blaze Fast Fire’d Pizza.

You’ve got to try it if you love thin crust pizza, want something fast for lunch, and are trying to encourage the kids to try something new on their pizza toppings. One pizza was more than enough for the two kids to share, and next time we’ll grab a salad to complete the meal, easily available in the salad bar.

The service is fast, there are side salads and yummy-looking s’more cookies available and something the kids were excited about – the lemonade.

Hint: try the blood orange lemonade, it’s great!
