Winter Pioneer Camp at John Janzen

Does your pioneer think they have what it takes to survive the elements? Campers will get a taste of John Walter’s do-it-yourself lifestyle as they learn how people lived in the River Valley over 100 years ago. We’ll practice building fires for outdoor cooking, learn how to identify animal tracks, and navigate using a compass! Jan.2-3 — 9am-4pm — $90

Day Camp at Laser City

No School? No Problem! Sign up for one of our Day Camps! Need to keep the kids busy and having fun for the day? We’ve got just the thing with our Laser Tag and Mini Paintball Day Camps. For Ages 6 – 12 Snacks and a PIZZA lunch are provided Just $65 a player for a full day of FUN!

Everybody Gets to Play Day

Play Days are hosted by Everybody Gets to Play to allow kids to instinctively, creatively and energetically have fun. It is a celebration of community to celebrate play, encourage the benefits of year-round play and support the development of healthy, active and creative children.

Newcomer Skate at McLeod

Have you never skated before? Do you know somebody who hasn’t? This is the chance to get out on the ice for the first time. We will have free skating from 1-3pm on Saturday, January 4th. We have plenty of loaner skates. Free hot chocolate will be served.

Winter Sugarshack Party

We’re doing our sugar shack again, but this time with a bonfire and more games. And like last year, the children and Rev. Jordan will celebrate the Blessing of the Epiphany Chalk. This was such a huge hit last year, it would be sad to miss out. Children are 110% necessary for this, so please bring you and yours.

Snowshoe and Stargaze at Elk Island Park 

Join fellow night sky enthusiasts at Astotin Lake after dark! Elk Island National Park is a member of the Beaver Hills Dark Sky Preserve and is a perfect place to experience the stars and planets above. Because the earth is constantly rotating, the night sky changes throughout the year.

Winter ‘How to’ Greenshack Free Playdates 

For the months of January and February, we are offering a Winter How To at the Green Shack Program! Get active this winter and learn to kicksled, snowshoe, cook outdoors and so much more!

Community Swing & Skate

Enjoy some family-friendly winter fun! Lace up some skates with free skate rentals courtesy of the Edmonton Arts Council, or dance along to the live music with the dancers of Sugar Swing. This is a free, all-ages event open to everyone; you do not need to be a resident of the participating community leagues to attend.
