What to do in Edmonton this Weekend (With Kids) | November 1-3

Halloween is over and now weekends are starting to fill up with winter activities, holiday activities, places to explore indoors and family movies. This weekend, you can get into a free bedtime stories symphony if you keep that halloween costume on, explore somewhere new in Edmonton and even get FREE LEGO if you visit Toys R Us for their weekend events.

Here’s what to do this weekend in Edmonton with Kids 

WHAT TO DO ON FRIDAY

Family Movie Night: Narnia 

Popcorn, drinks, and family fun! Come and join us C3E Family, for a Movie on November 1! We’ll be showing the fun & whimsical movie, “Narnia” All ages welcome! We’ll provide popcorn and drinks. Is your house brimming with Halloween candy? Bring some to share.

Bedtime Stories Symphony 

Join the Symphonic Wind Ensemble (Angela Schroeder, conductor) for an evening of musical storytelling and delightful Halloween-style camp! Free admission with costume!

Haunted Showhome 

From 3pm – 5pm there will be no actors in the haunted house so if you want to come for the kid friendly portion this would be the best time to come. Parent descression advised. From 5:30pm to 11pm there will be actors inside to add that extra depth or horror.

Paint a Harry Potter Plate 

Kids will get to paint their very own Harry potter plate or a design of their own at Crankpots Ceramic Studio. You have the choice of staying with your child or dropping them off and you can go and have dinner or a cup of coffee on Whyte Ave while they create their own masterpiece.

Shop the Peppermint Stix Christmas Fair

Queen of Hearts Presents the very first Peppermint Stix Christmas Fair at Wye Community Hall 151-22559 on Saturday November 2, 10-4pm and Sunday November 3, 11-4pm, 2019. This market will allow you to  check everyone off your Christmas list, from friends, husbands and parents – and will give you your chance to order you locally curated surprise box for the holidays! Shop the amazing group of vendors for this event, make your order to get your hands on a Queen of Hearts Surprise Box, for HIM, or the anticipated, winter box!

Pumpkin Smash

Come on down to smash your Halloween pumpkins and prepare them for composting! -FREE, family event. -Bring your Halloween Pumpkins to smash and prepare for composting! -Make compost tea bags from last year’s pumpkin compost. -Bring a mug for hot chocolate! This free, family, fun-filled waste reducing event was a hit in 2018 where around 500 pumpkins were thoughtfully smashed and have now been turned into finished compost. Let’s squash those numbers this year!

Star Wars LEGO Make and Take at Toys R Us 

LEGO® Star Wars™ Mini Tantive IV™ Make and Take! Saturday, November 2. The event starts at 11:00 a.m. Build and take home a legendary Star Wars starship. Plus kids can play with the new interactive Star Wars lightsabers.

Fun Swim in the Lap Pool 

On Saturday, you’ll find a fun swim in the lap pool at Millennium Place. Children over the age of eight can visit on their own, with friends, but parents must accompany children under the age of eight. It’s a great way to run off (or swim off) some of that winter energy. Plus, younger kids can enjoy the toddler sectioning the wave pool!

Explore the Wildlife Underpass

Just a short hike from the road is a wildlife underpass that you can explore with the kids. With vehicles on top, a creek and a fun place to explore, it’s one of those places that makes for the perfect fall adventure.

The LUSH Christmas Party
