Tree Lighting Ceremony at Fairmont Hotel Macdonald 

On November 15th, 2019, the holiday season will officially commence with our annual Tree Lighting Ceremony; an open-to-the-community event in support of driving awareness for the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton. The ceremony will also unveil our largest gingerbread house yet – standing approximately 20ft. high and 18ft wide to welcome guests as they arrive in the lobby. The colossal structure is brought to life by our engineering and culinary teams over a total of 650 hours!

THINGS TO DO ON SATURDAY

Swim with Santa at West Edmonton Mall 

Welcome Santa to West Edmonton Mall at World Waterpark! Join us at 8 a.m. for a pancake breakfast and swim with Santa in the 31-degree World Waterpark! Tickets are $25 from 8 – 11 a.m. or $35 to stay all day! A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Santa’s Anonymous. Weather so sunny you’re going to want to pack your sunglasses!

Hangin’ with Dad Drop-in Program

A FREE half-day of fun and creativity for kids (age 3 to 8) and their dads, granddads, or other significant males. Hang with super heroes, build a box fort or a tower out of straws, or just make a mess! Share pizza, pretzels and a brew (rootbeer of course!) with your special guy. No Moms Allowed! (Psst! Book a spa day, Mom). DROP-IN.

Decorate Snowman Cookies at Michaels 

On Saturday, November 16 you can decorate snowman cookies at Michaels. Time: 10:00 am – 12:00 pmCost: $3 per project, ages 3+, supplies included. It’s a cheap and fun way to get out with the kids, make sure to show up early to get your spot!

Celebration of Lights in Sherwood Park 

Enjoy FREE family activities at Celebration of Lights. The festivities take place from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m and include an opportunity for a FREE picture with Santa, wagon rides, reindeer, writing letters to Santa, campfire cooking, holiday crafts and more. At 4:30 p.m. the countdown begins and the magic of the season will come alive with the lighting of the community Christmas lights.

Green Christmas at Martin Deerline 

Join Martin Deerline for a free family Christmas event! Have your picture taken with Santa on a John Deere tractor, build Christmas crafts, enjoy Christmas treats and save 10% on all John Deere toys and clothing! Pictures with Santa by donation to either Santa’s Anonymous or the local Food Bank.

Pajama Party in the IMAX 

What’s better than watching a beloved movie, curled up in your coziest pj’s with family and friends, you ask? Getting to watch on Alberta’s largest screen — that’s what! Arrive early and join us for a delicious hot breakfast* and then get cozy in our luxurious seats and watch Spirited Away.

Santa Arrives at Southgate Centre 

To celebrate his arrival, we’re throwing a holly, jolly, holiday party from 11am-2pm with balloon animals, holiday crafts and a special performance by Treehouse TV’s Splash’N Boots!

Santa Arrival Brunch at Londonderry

Our wonderful Mr. & Mrs. Claus are coming back to Londonderry once again for photos and fun this Christmas season! Come out and welcome them from the North Pole with us at our Santa’s Arrival Brunch happening November 17th from 10:30am – 11:30am in our food court. There will be swag bags for the first 200 kids filled with sweet treats and some great savings for caretakers!

Free Family Movie Night at Bountiful Market 

Join us at the market on Sunday November 17th at 3pm for a family movie event at the main stage. We’ll be showing the 1996 classic, Muppet Treasure Island! This event is free to attend and snacks will be available for purchase on site.

Landmark Cinemas Kids Day Out

Every Sunday, kids can get out of the house and score a movie ticket and Snack Pack (popcorn, drink, choice of candy treat) for one great, low price.
