Spooktacular Acreage

The Spooktacular Acreage is back for 2019. You’ve got to check out this kid-friendly way to kick off Halloween in Edmonton. There are hundreds of inflatables, animatronics and Halloween displays that are perfect for young kids! You can visit this acreage outside of the city starting Thursday until Halloween Night. It’s free – don’t forget your donation for the food bank, or a Christmas gift for children under twelve.

Harry Potter Cooking DAY CAMP

Calling all wizards and muggles alike! Kids can spend their PD Day using their wizarding skills in the kitchen, making recipes that pay homage to the great Harry Potter. We’ll be making chocolate pretzel wands, cauldron cakes and other magical treats.

School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

Come out on Saturday, October 26th to witness magic unfold in the form of science! Classes offered this year include Care of Magical Creatures, Charms, Muggle Studies, Potions, Defense Against the Dark Arts and many more! Let’s Talk Science has organized a series of magic-themed hands-on science activities, demonstrations and shows for children ages 5 – 15 to participate in. We have magical and spectacular potions shows put on by our amazing Professors. You don’t want to miss out on our 8th year of School of Witchcraft and Wizardry: Science is Magic 2019!

Spooky Saturday at the Museum 

Love Halloween? Can’t get enough? Want to explore a Museum at night? Come visit Strathcona County Museum & Archives where the Museum has been transformed into a spooky sight! Come brave our haunted exhibits and participate in Spooktacular activities! Advanced tickets are available at the Museum.

On Fall Weekends, the Haunted Pumpkin Festival at Prairie Gardens Adventure Farm, attracts families from across the nation to Edmonton’s countryside every fall! An autumn outing to the pumpkin patch and this charming month-long Halloween festival is an annual tradition. There’s been over 1 million guests to the farm have enjoyed the farm since 1956!

Boo at the Zoo 

Get closer, be not afraid! The Edmonton Valley Zoo invites you to come down and enjoy Boo! at the Zoo! This family friendly Halloween hootenanny is sure to delight everyone. There will be all sorts of great things to see and do, including hands-on science, treat stops, an extinct animal graveyard, magic shows, and much more. Come dressed up in your costume and enjoy a spooky Sunday at the zoo!

Mad Science Party at Chapters Indigo 

Indigo is excited to partner with Mad Science this fall to bring your child a science-based “Halloween Party”. Your child will become a junior scientist for the hour or so, having the opportunity to experience real live science by solving science mysteries. Kids will be dazzled by a spectacular “Fire and Ice show” including special dry ice effects. Kids will also enjoy the SLIME activity and learn the basics of molecular bonding while making their own gooey, gooey Mad Science Slime to take home and so much more. Kids will enjoy spectacular fun, safe, and hands-on activities presented by dynamic instructors using professional equipment and kids are “turned-on” to science! Ages 5+
