It’s the last long weekend of summer and if we’re being honest, our summer was jam packed with fun so we’re happy to welcome the fall days, jumping in leaf piles and fun fall festivals and events. That being said, there’s no reason you shouldn’t be out there enjoying the last weekend of summer with the kids. Free Family Movie Night: Wall-E
Free Family Movie Night feat. WALL-E presented by Edmonton’s Master Composter Recyclers August 30 7 pm, Argyll Hall Join us for a free screening of WALL-E, then stay for conversation on the 5Rs with a panel of MCRs from the city of Edmonton Master Composter Recycler program.

Summer Flower Fest (All Weekend)
Wander amongst instagrammable walls, floral displays and design vignettes to find Birchwood Meadows Flower Market and Cory Christopher’s curated pop up shop. Create your own flower bundles or build a flower crown, and let the kids have their turn at garden-inspired craft stations. Finish off your visit by grabbing a few delicious refreshments at the Dahlia Cafe, then relax in our Picnic & Games area to soak up the sun! The Food Trucks are Coming (to the Grain Elevator) 
Close out the summer with a BANG!! This is not a drill folks, over a dozen of the region’s best food trucks return to the St. Albert Grain Elevators to serve up all sorts of deliciousness! There will also be live music, a beer garden and lots of activities.

Water Lantern Festival 
Water Lantern Festival is filled with fun, happiness, hope, and great memories that you’ll cherish for a lifetime. This is a family friendly event that can be shared by everyone. The RCMP Musical Ride
Join the Royal Canadian Legion #256 Stony Plain, the RCMP Veterans Association and the Kinsmen Club of Stony Plain as they host the 2019 RCMP Musical Ride in Stony Plain. This family friendly event is held at the Heritage Pavilion and will host 2 incredible shows starting at 2 pm and 6 pm at a cost of $10 adults, $5 seniors and youth age 7-17, and free for those 6 and under. Feel free to come down and enjoy the stables and vendor displays starting at 12 noon – 6 pm free of charge.

Milky Way Day at Elk Island Park 
September 1 is Milky Way Day, an annual event hosted by the Beaver Hills Dark Sky Preserve. Join us in the afternoon for star and space-related experiences, intriguing guest speakers in the evening, followed by dark sky viewing with Elk Island staff and members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada! Interested in visiting the park before dark? The Sheep Leaving Parade in Fort Saskatchewan
It is that bittersweet time of year – the trees change colour and our beloved turf-trimming sheep prepare for their journey home. Join us at the Sheep Leaving Parade to bid our woolly friends farewell. We will march through downtown and return to the parade’s starting point at the Fort Heritage Precinct.
