Noon Year’s Eve | Telus World of Science
You can ring in the “noon year” with a countdown and never-before-seen Noon Year’s Eve science demonstration, featuring TWOSE’s own version of fireworks! (Hint: this demo involves 12 coloured hydrogen balloons). They’ll get ready to serve up some Candy Cane Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream – a true crowd pleaser, and offer a host of activities all day long.

New Year’s Eve Festival | Strathcona County
Slingshots, bob sled racing, cabane a sucre, sleigh rides, fireworks, free skating, photo booth, paper airplane owls, mechanical snowboarding, rock climbing, inflatables, wizard wands, broomstick making, fire dancing.
When: Saturday, 3 – 8:30

Countdown at the Conservatory | Muttart Conservatory
Come, bring the family and ring in the New Year early! We’re counting down to
2017 in style. Enjoy live music, a special New Year’s craft and fun activities for
all. Experience the hourly midnight countdowns with treats to ring in 2017!

New Year’s Eve Downtown | Sir Winston Churchill Square
This New Year’s Eve will be a celebration like no other!  Join us in City Hall & Churchill Square as we countdown to 2017 and the official start of Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation. This fun-filled, alcohol-free family event will have something for everyone, including children’s activities indoors, and early (8:30 pm) fireworks.

New Year’s Eve Beach Ball | West Edmonton Mall
Start the year off right at the annual New Year’s Eve Family Beach Ball, presented by World Waterpark. Celebrate with family and friends in a tropical environment, splashing in the world’s largest indoor wave pool and speeding down waterslides! The night will end with a bang and a one-of-a-kind indoor fireworks display.
When: Saturday, 5 – Midnight

New Year’s Day | Strathcona Wilderness Centre
Dress warmly, bring a mug and head to the Strathcona Wilderness Centre for a day of winter fun. Enjoy a blazing campfire, hot chocolate, and tasty treats for the whole family. Activities include: cross country skiing, snow sculptures, snowshoeing, campfire and much more.
When: Sunday, 1-4

New Year’s Day in the Park | Glastonbury
The Annual skate, sleigh & fireworks event. This year we will be fundraising for our Granville Playground via Bottle Collection (and cash donations are welcome as well) so save up your empties from the holidays and fill our trucks to donate! A door to door drive will follow later in January if you can’t bring your empties to the event. Sleigh Rides/Skating/Hot Chocolate & Triathalon begins at 3, although sometimes even a tad earlier, Sleigh rides shut down at 5PM sharp (because the horses need to get home before the fireworks begin), and fireworks begin at about 5:15, and end around 5:30.
When: Sunday, 3 – 5:30
