The festival’s vision is to celebrate light, artistry, imagination and the strong spirit of our community in the winter. Free Admission Day at Elk Island Park 
It’s the first weekend of winter and Elk Island National Park is celebrating with free entry Saturday, December 22. Make the short drive east of Edmonton and discover all the winter activities to enjoy at Elk Island National Park. Come at dawn or dusk for the best chance to view wildlife, spend the afternoon skating or snowshoeing across a frozen Astotin Lake*, or cuddle up around the campfire and catch an early sunset.

Free Family Christmas Skate
Join us for an afternoon for Christmas Family FREE Skate on Saturday, December 22nd from 2pm to 5pm. Free cookies and hot chocolate, visit from Santa, music and photo booth for the whole family to enjoy. All ages are welcome, children must be accompanied by an adult. Children must bring their own helmet. No sticks or pucks allowed, skate rentals not available on site.
