Edmonton Candy Cane Lane Guide 2015 #yeg #yegkids

Candy Cane Lane is one of those Christmas traditions that we do every single year – at least twice. Usually, on a way back from a shopping trip at the mall we’ll drive down Candy Cane lane, and at least once, we’ll bundle up the kids and walk. It’s going to be an exciting this year, with talk of a real-live donkey in a manger.

Where is Candy Cane Lane in Edmonton? Candy Cane Lane is located at 148 Street between 92nd and 100th Ave. The holiday lights display run between December 11 and January 3/2016. (view the map, here)

How long does it take? It takes 10-15 minutes driving, and about 20-25 minutes if you’re walking with little kids. For ease of use, we like to bring a sled or wagon (if there isn’t enough snow on the sidewalks to pull the sled.

What should you bring? Last year, Candy Cane Lane raised xx pounds for local food banks, from donations of people visiting the popular Christmas Light display. Bring food for the food banks, as there are donation boxes and bins throughout the area. Make sure everything’s bagged, just in case it’s snowing.

Bundle up, bring hot beverages and layer kids so they’re not cold (if you choose to walk). Kids can also bring their letters to Santa (until the 16th December) to mail in the Canada Post boxes – a great reason to visit early in the season.
