Drop in Programs or Edmonton drop off childcare programs are one of those things that are lifesavers when you haven’t got access to a sitter for the kids. It helps parents to get out of the house, and try something new, or simply enjoy the quiet for a few hours – and the kids to have fun while they’re learning something new and spending time with other kids.

Playmaker U Battlezone

Saturday night dinner date night just got quieter. At Battlezone, kids can come out and enjoy a fun physical game night that challenges (watch the video here). Book session by session, or grab yourself a 10 session punch card. 6-7pm slot is reserved for ages (9-10), 7-8pm is for ages (11-13). Love to Play at Ardrossan
Ages: 2 to kindergarten
The Love to Play at Ardrossan has drop in times that change from season to season, but it’s a fantastic way to get away for a few hours, or work out at the center – parents can leave the facility. There’s a really cool preschool set-up in there, with a blanket fort pirate ship, a miniature version of a grocery store, a fun suction wall and so much more to play with. My Gym Parents Night Out
Ages: $35 ($45 non members)
Once a month for three hours parents can use the Parents Night Out at My Gym Edmonton. The three hour long session makes for an easy dinner date night, and includes a pizza party for the kids, rides, activities and fun for the whole three hour session. Get more details at www.mygym.com/edmonton

Parents Date Night at Treehouse

Servus Place, St. Albert 
Ages: 3-10
Drop your children off for a quiet evening of fun while you enjoy a night off. The qualified chil minding staff will keep the children entertained with crafts, games and themed activities, books and free play. A nutritiious snack will also be provided. Kids require indoor shoes and must be able to go the bathroom independently. The cost is $16.50 and parents must register children ahead of time, here.

Date nights (or breakfasts, with the through the week or early weekend Ardrossan Love to Play hours) don’t have to be elusive, and though it might be a bit more expensive than hiring a sitter at home you don’t have to worry about coming home to a house that hasn’t been tidied and the kids will be tired out when it comes time to pick them up.
