Flying Canoe Festival

In the spirit of a great winter city, the Flying Canoë Volant is a creative and interactive cultural event designed to celebrate local history and everything that is great about a long winter’s night. ​ Inspired by the legend of The Flying Canoe and French Canadian, First Nations and Métis traditions, this event celebrate Edmonton’s beautiful Mill Creek Ravine and the French Quarter. Come celebrate your inner voyageur with light, music, legends and dance!

STEM & Makerspace Open House

Come and check out our new STEM Learning Centre. We will be demonstrating: Coding With Minecraft, Robotics with Lego EVE3, Makey Makey, 3D Printing, Stop Motion and Green Screen, Online Tutoring Platform. This is a great chance to check us out prior to booking for a birthday party, registering for a Spring Break course or Summer Program, or booking online tutoring with us.

Glow in the Dark Skate

A FREE family friendly skating event with glow sticks, hot chocolate, and cabane a sucre, a tasty maple treat. Remember to dress for the weather and bring your skates. Saturday, February 1 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Cowan Skating Pathway at Emerald Hills Regional Park 4501 Emerald Drive, Sherwood Park This event is weather dependent. Hot chocolate and glow sticks available while supplies last.

Family Movie Night: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

We’re screening the ORIGINAL Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971) at the Gymnasium at Campus St.Jean at the Gymnasium. Doors open at 1:30PM – movie starts at 2PM

Learn to Swim like a Mermaid Drop In

Drop-in during recreational swimming between 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and try swimming with a monofin in this free in-water trial where you’ll also get to make a craft, take a photo with a mermaid, and get a nice keepsake to take home.

Lunar New Year at Londonderry 

Join us in celebrating the Year of the Rat through our 5th Annual Lunar New Year Celebration on Saturday, February 1st! Enrich your day with culture through dance, martial arts demonstrations, lion dances, activities, photobooth, giveaways and more! Confirmed performances from the amazing Hong De, Tien Lung Taekwondo, Ging Wu, Viva Dance and so many more. The celebration will take place from 11am to 4pm in East Court, with an opening ceremony lion dance at 11:30am.

Learn to Skate FREE Drop in 

Fun and basic skills are the focus of these free drop-in skating sessions delivered by the City. This program is targeted for children (ages 6-12) and their families, however, all are welcome to attend! Participants must have their own skates. A CSA approved helmet is mandatory for participation. The program will cancel at -23 degrees Celsius with the wind-chill or if the ice is unusable as deemed by the facility.

Get Outside and Play with the Winter Green Shack 

Get active this winter and learn to kicksled, snowshoe, cook outdoors and so much more!
This program is targeted for children aged 6-12, but all children accompanied by an adult are welcome to attend.

Drop in ‘Try a Drama Program’

Drop-in and enjoy a FREE try-it drama workshop at Ardrossan Recreation Complex (80-1 Avenue, Ardrossan) on Sunday, February 2. Have fun as you try creative charades, live storytelling, and exciting theatre games for all ages.

Live Active Day in Rundle Park

All are welcome to Rundle Park for a special celebration of active living, recreation and sport in Edmonton. Bring family and friends and join Edmonton’s Live Active partners for an afternoon of skating, tobogganing, kick sledding, snowshoeing, marshmallow roasting, and much more!
