The Best ‘Kids Meals’ in Edmonton

Kids Meals – the kids want them, despite the fact that we suggest they share an entree to try something new at a restaurant. We’ve got a few favourite kids meals in Edmonton – and so we wanted to share some of them with you.

Brewster’s (for brunch)

From the half-pint breakfast to the kids french toast – the breakfast at Brewster’s for kids is one of our favourite parts of the weekend. The laid back environment of a booth in the Oliver Square location, or the patio during the summer months, is where you’ll find us if we’ve got plans to be downtown on a weekend morning.

Jack’s Burger Shack

Delicious burgers, fries that you’re going to want to steal if they don’t finish them and delicious milkshakes in your favorite cereal flavour – those are three of the reasons that you’re going to want to add this reasonably priced kids menu to your list of places to try. Convince them to try the burger with peanut butter on it, they’ll love it. While you’re there, share a milkshake, they’re huge (and delicious).

Chopped Leaf

Chopped leaf is a lighter option if you’re looking for something packed full of flavour, without being too heavy, like the burger and fries that quickly become our go-to for kids fare. Need a kid option that’s going to please? Try the chicken bowl.

Delux Burger Bar

Kids eat free on Mondays, and that’s our favourite time to go. If you ask nicely, you can get the side of fries delivered in a shopping cart. At the end of the meal, the kids can share cotton candy and you can bring home your leftovers because the portion sizes are very generous.

Branches Restaurant

This bright, perfect for late lunch restaurant is located in Greenlands Garden Greenhouse but has limited hours on the weekend, so it’s best for lunch. You need to try the grilled romaine salad. There’s grilled cheese for the kids, small plates for the parents and when you’re finished lunch you can spend a bit of time walking around and exploring the greenhouse.

Smashburger

Smashburger fried chicken strips are going to tempt you steal them from the kids plates. The fried chicken is yummy, crisp and perfectly seasoned (and only available in the kids menu). The kids can choose from different sides, ours like the veggie frites, and you can get lunch or dinner into the kids, fast.

Mongolie Grill

At Mongolie Grill, kids can choose the veggies, the meat, the sauce, and have their dinner prepared before their very eyes. Plus, parents can now take advantage of the flat rate for dinner and the fact that kids are charged by their age for their portions. That’s a bargain for dinner, and a great option for something new.

Soda Jerks

One of the best parts of the kids meal at Soda Jerks is the dessert, that you’re going to want to hijack from the kids. If you’ve got two kids, get the mini donuts for one, and the ice cream for the second one. Together, they make magic. The second best part? Letting the kids choose a special treat from the wall of sodas. We get one for the kids to share (because they’re $5 a pop) and because they don’t need that much sugar (let’s save some for dessert!)

Famoso

A Margherita or Marinara pizzetta with a kid’s pop and a scoop of gelato or sorbetto is only seven bucks, and the kids love snacking on the Mediterranean flatbread (a must try if you’re dining with the kids and want a small snack beforehand).
