‘Pirate Playground’ in Leduc

Nestled in the quiet new development of Blackstone in Leduc is a brand new pirate ship themed
playground. Great for a fun afternoon of make believe or a game of ‘fishy in the water’, it is an open wood chip playground located next to a community arena set to open this winter.

The pirate theme is showcased with a large pirate ship play structure featuring a slide and many rope & climbing structures. The kids played pirates & worked on their balance on the rope climbing structures. Best suited for preschoolers 18 months to 5 years old with low structures it was fun & easy to manage for my 3 year old.

Things to know before you go

  •  This playground is best suited for young playground go-ers, rather than the adventure seekers – it’s very toddler friendly.
  • Parking is near the playground, so younger children will not have to walk very far to access the fun area.
  • It’s a sand free playground! You’ll find those not-so-easy-to-walk on wood chips, but you won’t have to worry about bringing sand home from the playground by the bucketfuls in kids shoes!

The playground was quiet when we visited on a Friday evening & we had the place to ourselves. It
was easily accessible but in a brand new development so there is construction traffic and benches haven’t yet been installed. It was great for a quick play to burn off some energy before bed &
my kids have already asked when we will be heading back to the ‘boat park’.
